Graduation

The Practice for both the Baccalaureate Mass and Graduation will be at noon on Wednesday, May 13, in the Gym.  It will last about an hour.

We ask that all graduates attend and act with maturity, following the 3Rs, so that we can be clear, understood, and rehearsed as quickly as possible. 

This is mandatory as it is when we distribute caps and gowns.

Baccalaureate Mass, 6 p.m.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m.

• Graduates gather in the grand hall by 5:30 p.m.
• No tickets are being issued for this celebration
• Doors open for guests at 5:30 p.m.
• All guest seating is first-come, first-served
• Handicap parking and accessible seating is available
• Graduates wear their purple gowns only (no caps) over dressy clothing
• Kairos and Kairos leaders may wear crosses, but no other STA stoles, honor cords, or medals are worn during Mass
• No dogs or pets allowed; only service dogs

Arrival

• Students arrive by 5:30 p.m.
• Seniors - arrange for drop-off to save parking for guests. The senior lot is closed to seniors during the graduation ceremony
• Bemis Field Gates open at 6 p.m. for families and guests
• Guest parking is available in all lots. Parking is allowed along the west side of 98th Street, in front of the school
• Handicap parking and accessible seating is available
• No dogs or pets allowed; only service dogs
• Staff is transporting visitors by golf cart from the parking lots to the stadium for those who need it
• No outside food or beverages allowed
• Water, programs, and fans are provided
• Notre Dame Prep has a clear bag policy at all events

Grad Info

• Graduates are to wear their purple caps and gowns over dressy clothing
• Only academic medals, STA stoles, honor cords, and Kairos and Kairos leader crosses are allowed. No leis may be worn until after graduation
• Graduates check in to their assigned classrooms (505 – 704) by 5:30 p.m.
• Josten’s photos will be taken of graduates outside the chapel from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

Dress code for Baccalaureate and Graduation ceremony:

All graduates will wear gowns without caps for Baccalaureate Mass, and both caps and gowns for the commencement exercises.

Boys

• Dress shirts with ties and dress pants are required. No polo shirts or t-shirts
• No jeans or casual pants may be worn
• Dress shoes with dress socks are REQUIRED (no athletic shoes will be permitted)
• Boys must be clean shaven and have natural color hair in dress code compliance
•  No sunglasses or earrings may be worn

Girls

• Dresses or skirts (no more than 1 inch above the knee)
• Dresses and tops must have at least cap sleeves (no spaghetti straps or tank tops permitted unless a sweater or jacket is worn)
• All tops must have a modest neckline
• No flip flops are permitted
• No sunglasses may be worn
• Hair must be natural in color and in dress code compliance

Additional items for graduating seniors:

• No items may be worn on the outside of the gown or on the cap (ie. Pins, writing, jewelry, etc.). The only exception to this rule will be National Honor Society/Honors Thespian Sashes, Valedictorian/Salutatorian/Honors medals, and Kairos medals/leader crosses.
• No gum or food of any kind may be brought on to Bemis Field.

At graduation our seniors will receive a Notre Dame Preparatory diploma cover for the ceremony. The actual printed diploma will be available for pick up at the school the week following graduation. Congratulations to our graduates!
