Notre Dame Prep Names Tracey Heisler Assistant Principal of Learning Services

Notre Dame Preparatory in Scottsdale has named Tracey Heisler as Assistant Principal of Learning Services for the 2021-22 school year.

An educator for 19 years, Heisler has spent the last 14 years at Notre Dame Prep.  She began teaching English at NDP in 2007, and then later served as Department Chair, Curriculum and Instructional Coaching Coordinator, and most recently, Dean of Academics.

“I am humbled to serve as Assistant Principal of Learning Services and to continue working in partnership with our incredible faculty, staff and families at NDP,” she said.

Heisler is a 2021 graduate of the Mary Ann Remick Leadership Program at the University of Notre Dame, where she earned a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership. She received her undergraduate degree in English Education from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and is originally from north-central Wisconsin.

“Tracey Heisler is an outstanding educator with excellent training and significant experience,” said NDP Principal Gene Sweeney, Ph.D. “She is familiar with and respected by the NDP staff, and those attributes, coupled with her work ethic, intelligence, and knowledge of the culture of the school make her the ideal candidate for the role of Assistant Principal of Learning Services.”

Heisler will provide leadership in the academic curriculum and instruction for the school. Working with Brie Dragonetti, Assistant Principal of Student Services, and Bonnie-Jean Chudzinski, Dean of Faculty, the three women will make up a team that will advance learning, collaboration, and results at the four-year Catholic high school.

“Tracey is able to see the big picture,” said NDP Math Department Chair, Cynthia Barberio, who has worked with Heisler for the past 11 years. “I attended one of Tracey’s seminars at an Ed Tech Conference in Boston, and I can tell you that she is an expert at promoting visual thinking, igniting student curiosity, and engaging students one-on-one through the use of various technologies.”

To add to her many roles at NDP, Heisler is also the parent of a Notre Dame Prep alumna. She has three daughters, the oldest of which graduated from NDP in 2017.

"I chose NDP for my own daughter because of the school’s mission to support academic success, spiritual formation and a commitment to serving others,” she said.
