Nine Notre Dame Prep Athletes Sign Early Letters of Intent

Before a crowd of more than 200 people, nine Notre Dame Prep student-athletes signed letters of intent to compete at the college level during the early National Letter of Intent Signing Day on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

The NDP Saints who signed their letters were Ryann Bloom, volleyball, Lee University; Acacia Connor, lacrosse, Syracuse University; McKenna Douglas, volleyball, San Diego State University; Chris Gaudio, baseball, Santa Clara University; and Tommy Laporte, baseball, Chandler-Gilbert Community College.

Also, Brice Martin, baseball, Benedictine College, Kansas; John Ruvo, track and field, University of Pennsylvania; Harper Schoeneweis, softball, Charleston Southern University; and Maddy White, sand volleyball, University of Southern California.

Parents, teachers, coaches, counselors and teammates showed up to watch the signing ceremony in the Dale M. Jenson Gymnasium at Notre Dame Prep. Each signee was asked to explain why they committed to their particular college or university.

“I chose to play sand volleyball at USC because they have a great program, and I felt at home when I visited there,” said White, a member of the No. 1-ranked NDP girls’ varsity volleyball team.

The football early-period Letter of Intent Signing Day is set for Wednesday, Dec. 15.

“We are so proud of all of our student-athletes and wish them well with their college careers,” said Steve Shaff, NDP assistant athletic director. “We hope they remember that they are forever Saints.”
