One pill can kill. Knowledge is power and that is why Notre Dame Prep is partnering with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office to provide a community forum on the fentanyl crisis.

In 2023, the overdose death rate from fentanyl topped 112,000 in 12 months for the first time, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The forum is set for 6 p.m. Monday, March 4 in the St. Catherine of Bologna Performing Arts Center on the Notre Dame Prep campus. Admission is free and the forum is open to the public.

"We need to educate our community about the dangers and prevalence of fentanyl; not just in Scottsdale, but in the country," said NDP Principal Brie Dragonetti. "The tiniest amount of the drug can be lethal and we want our community to know the facts," she added.

Topics to be discussed by a panel of experts include:

  • Prevention
  • Remedies -
  • Common ways it is given/made available to unsuspecting consumers
  • And much more!
