A Message from Mrs. Platt

I'd like to thank our community for your patience and support around our school this past week. We live in difficult times and the outside world can present itself at any moment. We, at NDP, care about the health and welfare of all of our community and will continue to challenge the social demons that try to infiltrate the lives of our students. Along those lines, we have arranged for two very important educational events. The first is a NotMYkid presentation on the dangers of substance abuse and addiction set for 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 27, (for parents) and during House time on Thursday, Feb. 28, (for students). The second is a community-wide viewing of the movie Angst, an independent film that shines a light on the anxiety teens feel from the constant barrage of news, social media and social pressure. The movie will be shown at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, in the gym. These events were scheduled several weeks ago, but now they seem even more necessary. Please plan to attend both events and help us to educate and understand our students. Together we can work to keep them safe.

Thank you,

Jill Platt
