Faculty and Staff Recertification

The purpose of recertification is for all of us to grow in knowledge of faith in our personal lives, to be better equipped to share that faith with the students and families we serve. Thus, our recertification opportunities are to be catechetical in nature and focused on our personal formation. The diocese calls these opportunities "continuing education." To clarify, this is why we cannot count the service we do or our own prayer life like Mass and adoration toward recertification submissions. The only exception made to this is a total of 6 hours allowed for "retreat" labeled certificates. These 6 hours are counted per recertification cycle.

Requirements:

  • Every 3 years, you are required to recertify your Catechist Certification.
    • You are expected to have a total of 24 hours of "continuing education".
    • You are in charge of keeping track of your own hours via the certificates you receive upon completing 'courses' online (examples linked below) or opportunities that NDP offers.
    • Recertifications are due on May 1st every year.
      • You must submit all the certificates together to the Diocesan Office, with the recertification application (see attachment).
      • Recertification costs $10.00 as well. This money needs to be in the envelope sent in with your certificates and application.
