Sacrament Prep (OCIA)

What are THE SacramentS?

The sacraments are outward, visible signs of God's invisible grace and they were instituted by Christ. There are seven sacraments, three of which are known as the Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation, and First Holy Communion. These three sacraments welcome a person into the Catholic Church and allow us regular access to God's grace in practices like Communion and Confession/Reconciliation.

The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, or OCIA, is the program that students participate in to become Catholic. This step in one's spiritual journey means a deeper love and union with Jesus, as well as a stronger community in faith.

Sacrament Prep:

This program is quite lengthy, so the students have plenty of time to prepare and truly discern this decision. If at any point they decide they do not want to receive, or they are not yet ready, they can opt out or drop out of the program all together.

Sessions begin September 15 through the Easter Vigil, which is on March 27, 2027. Students are called into the chapel during a WIN session about once a week.

If this is something you are interested in pursuing, please contact Mrs. Martinez in the COMM.
