Kairos Retreats
Kairos is a national retreat method that came to NDP (Notre Dame Preparatory) in 2011 with the help of Seton Catholic High School who did their first retreat in 1995 with the help of Salpointe High School in Tucson.
The Kairos retreat method grew out of the Cursillo, a 4-day retreat for adults which began in 1965. The format was adjusted for young adults and is primarily lead by students. Adults simply assist the student leaders as they lead. The retreat is a series of structured talks, meditations and activities followed by small group discussions. It is through this simple method that many lives have been changed over the years.
Did You Know?
Our first Kairos Retreat took place in 2011. Since then, more than 1,000 NDP students have had their lives changed by their Kairos experience. Fun Fact: Our former chaplain Fr. Ian Wintering, was a team member on the very first NDP Kairos Retreat when he was a senior at Seton Catholic Prep.
During the 2024-25 school year, we will hold our 50th Kairos Retreat!
