Faith
Our Catholic Identity
Faith is an integral part of life at Notre Dame Prep. As a Catholic high school, our goal is to advance the mission of Jesus Christ and to be a light for the world by forming students who embody our pillars of Reverence, Respect and Responsibility.
Our caring faculty and staff are committed to strengthening the minds, bodies and souls of our students through a vibrant faith life on campus so that they might come to believe that anything is possible for their lives in accordance with God's will. Combining faith and reason, we prepare our students for life as well as for college.
We are unapologetically a Catholic school and students from all faith backgrounds are welcome here. A diverse campus leads to great conversations and contemplation. Catholic means universal and we love all of our students, no matter where they are in their faith journey.
To help our students foster a relationship with God, were offer the following:
- Monday Lunch-Time Bible Studies
- The Boat Peer Ministry, and Symposium with the Youth Ministers (Symp with the YMs) are all up and running.
- Thursday "Likert Scale" discussions where student's discuss their opinions about topics such as "It is necessary to follow the 10 commandments to live a happy life?"
Meet Our Chaplain
We are excited to welcome Fr. Bonaventure (Fr. Bōna for short) to our Saints family.
Fr. Bona is Nigerian by nationality and has spent considerable time serving the Lord on three continents: Africa, Europe and North America.
He holds bachelor's degrees in sociology, anthropology, religion, and cultural studies. He has master's degrees in theology and religious studies. He earned a licentiate in dogmatic theology and a doctorate in sacred theology.
Having served as associate pastor at St. Jerome's Church in Phoenix and St. Gabriel's Church in Cave Creek, Fr. Bona is no stranger to the Valley. He is a published author of many books and articles, and looks forward to sharing his passion for faith, hope and charity with the NDP community.
Through the intercession of the Holy Spirit, Fr. Bona hopes to bless each and every member of our community.
Catholic education is holistic in nature and approach; it lays emphasis on the essential values and principles required for the formation of a balanced and mature human being in society, namely, the human, intellectual, moral and spiritual.
~ FR. BONA UGWU, Campus Chaplain, 2024-PRESENT
Faith is a call to rise above who we are. We will lose sight of it now and then, but it is important to always come back to it. Always search for it during the darkest moments. Allow it to light up your life.
