Junior Charlotte Kim posted a two-over par 73 that featured three birdies and 11 pars over the Omni Tucson National Golf course layout to finish 23rd overall. With her first round 79, she finished the two-day tournament at 152.
The Notre Dame Prep Girls Golf team is in ninth place after the first round of the AIA DII Girls State Golf Championships at the Tucson National Golf Course. The Saints shot a 347 to stand eight strokes back of eighth-place Desert Mountain (339) in the team standings.
Notre Dame Prep Fall sports practices and tryouts start on August. 9. All students must be cleared in Final Forms with an update AIA physical with completed Brainbook and Opioid certifications.
Notre Dame Prep will be represented by six student-athletes at the Arizona High School Sports Awards including girl’s basketball player Alivia Pautz, golfers Cade Anderson and Bailee Tayles, soccer’s Andrew Vines, tennis player Brooke Belitz and volleyball’s McKenna Douglas.
Mike Brown has been named the Girls Golf Coach and will coach the Notre Dame Prep girls golf team this fall, Athletic Director Mark Cisterna announced. Brown also coaches the NDP track and field team and is a member of the school’s faculty.
Rising sophomore golfer Izzie Cioe finished second in the Girls 14-15 age group of the Drive, Chip & Putt local qualifier at Talking Stick Golf Club on Thursday. She advances to a sub-regional qualifier in Las Vegas at TPC Sumerlin on August 7.
