Volleyball’s Evan Hendrix Named MaxPreps/AVCA State Player of the Week

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Sophomore Evan Hendrix was named the Arizona MaxPreps/AVCA Player of the Week by the organizations on Wednesday. She was one of 43 student-athletes honored by America’s source for high school sports and the leading volleyball organization for their performances during the week of August 30-September 5.

Hendrix helped the Saints post an undefeated start to the season at 9-0 with wins over Greenway and Saint Mary’s and winning the House of Payne Tournament hosted by Chandler High School. She played in 21 sets, recording 150 kills (7.14 k/match), 56 digs (2.67 d/match) and 75 receptions (3.57 r/match) with 16 aces and eight blocks. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the House of Payne Tournament.

The Saints travel to Seton Catholic on Thursday for a rematch of the AIA 4A State Semifinalists in 2020.
