Sports Recap Week of November 07, 2022

Volleyball

The Varsity Volleyball was the #4 seed in the AIA 5A State Tournament bracket and hosted region rival Cactus Shadows on Tuesday. CS had previously beaten our Saints twice this season, so this game was HUGE for our team. NDP came out firing on all cylinders, taking it to the Falcons for a quick 2-0 lead. CS battled back taking the third set. But NDP would not be denied, winning the fourth set 25-21 to avenge the earlier losses and advancing to the semi-finals. In the semi's, NDP traveled to Millenium to face the #1 undefeated, 5A powerhouse. Although the Saints battled throughout the match, the Tigers were just too much for our Saints, with Millenium winning 3-0. What a great season this year - proud of our Volleyball Saints!

Football

The Varsity Football Team took on Gilbert last Friday during Senior Night and although the game was close in the first half, our Saints took control in the second half, pulling away with a 31-14 win. With that win, the NDP Saints are the #1 seed in the AIA State 5A Championship Tournament and will host Paradise Valley this Friday night at 7 p.m. Shout out to our seniors, who finish the regular season 9-1. Good luck in the playoffs!
