Baseball
Baseball finished the regular season with wins over Higley, Desert Mountain, and Desert Mountain 5-3 at home. The team is ranked #10 after the win over Desert Mountain. JV also beat Higley, Desert Mountain, and Desert Mountain to close their season. Frosh closed their season by beating Higley and Desert Mountain, but only losing to Casa Grande.
Beach Volleyball
Beach Volleyball lost to Queen Creek in the first round of the AIA state playoffs. The team finished with an 11-3 record, good enough for 10th in the state. Great season Saints! The pair of McSorley and Watson play in the state pairs tournament on May 1 at 5:45pm at Casteen HS. Let’s go, Ladies!
Softball
Softball beat Mountain Pointe last week 14-11!! and lost to Cactus Shadows and Desert Mountain x2 to close out the season.
Boys’ Volleyball
Boys’ Volleyball lost to three tough teams in Casteel, Williams Field, and Campo Verde last week. The team finishes the regular season against Mountain Pointe and Cactus Shadows this week. Let’s get a win, Saints!
Track and Field
Track had two meets last week. On Thursday, NDP hosted its first ever big invitational. The girls and boys both took 2nd. Evan Grawer broke the 800-meter school record with a time of 1:58.27. Evan Morozowich placed 3rd in the mile and 3rd in the 3200. Aiden Weaver placed 2nd in the 400. NDP won the 4x4 and 4x8 for the boys. Diego Herrera-Vendrell won the Shot Put and Discus. Aston Roe placed 2nd in the Triple Jump. Taylor Chantler placed 2nd in the 100 and the 200. Ava Handel placed 2nd in the 3200. Payton Riggins placed 3rd in the Javelin. Finally, Kaitlyn Matura placed 3rd in the high jump.
Also, On Saturday the team traveled to Seton Catholic to compete at the Sentinel Invite. The girls won their meet and the boys took 2nd. Aiden Weaver won the 400. Evan Grawer placed 4th in the mile. Carlos Wallen won the 110 hurdles while James Ryan took 2nd. James Ryan won the 300 hurdles while Carlos Wallen took 4th. NDP took 2nd in the boys 4x8 relay. Aston Roe took 2nd in the high jump and 3rd in the long jump. Robert Clarkson got 5th in the triple jump. Lauren Metcalf took 2nd in the 100 m and 100 hurdles and finished 3rd in the 300 hurdles. Ava Handel won the mile while Katie Kitchen placed 5th. NDP won the girls 4x8. Payton Riggins won the Javelin. Kaitlyn Matura won High Jump and Triple Jump.
Boys’ Lacrosse
Boys’ Lacrosse closes their regular season with wins over Cactus Shadows and West Valley High School. With a first-round bye in the playoffs, NDP will host the winner of Desert Vista and the play-in game of Cactus Shadows and Brophy V2. JV closed their season with a tie vs Cactus Shadows and a win over West Valley.
Girls’ Lacrosse
Girls’ Lacrosse played three times last week, losing to Desert Vista, Chandler, and Pinnacle. JV also fell to Desert Vista and Pinnacle. Good luck in the final week of the season!
Boys’ Tennis
Boys’ Tennis beat Yuma 9-0 at Yuma on Tuesday. The team earned the #6 seed in the AIA State Tournament and hosts #11 Prescott on Tuesday. Good Luck, Saints!
Girls’ Tennis
Girls’ Tennis earned the #12 seed and head to #5 Canyon View on Tuesday for the first round of the AIA State Tournament. Good luck, Saints!
