Souper Bowl Food Drive Raises over 1,800 Pounds of Food

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – The Souper Bowl Food Drive, coordinated by Notre Dame Prep senior Wyatt Harris, produced more than 1,800 pounds of food for the Saint Mary’s Food Bank. Through the drove, more than 1,500 meals will be given to people in need.

“Overall, I think it went good,” Harris said. “But I’ll always think we can do better and I am hoping we can improve on it next year. It was great to see my old school Cactus Shadows along with Pinnacle and Chaparral. I hope the juniors will continue the tradition.”

Notre Dame Prep, which raised over 750 pounds of food at its drive in September, joined the football programs from Cactus Shadows, Pinnacle and Chaparral High Schools.

Harris recently visited both Cactus Shadows and Pinnacle High Schools to present the winning checks from the event sponsors. Cactus Shadows Head Coach Michael Hudnutt was presented with the $500 Champion award sponsored by RE/MAX Alliance Group, while Pinnacle’s football team received the $250 2nd-place award sponsored by Momentum Title Agency. The Fine Breger Agency donated $100 to the Chaparral football program online as the third-place recipient.
