NPD Hires Head Track and Field Coach Chris Nash

Notre Dame Prep athletic director Jason Levine is pleased to announce the hiring of Chris Nash as our new track and field head coach.

Coach Nash was born and raised in Hillsboro, OR, and attended Jesuit High School in Portland, where he was a two-sport standout in track and football athlete. He attended Linfield College earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and was a member of Linfield College’s 1986 National Championship Football Team and a two-time qualifier for the NAIA Track & Field National Championships in the decathlon.

Following graduation, he was commissioned in the United States Marine Corps, where in 1995, he was an All-Marine Javelin Champion and placed 5th in the Armed Forces Track and Field Championships. While on active duty in the Marine Corps, Chris deployed to Somalia, Iraq and Afghanistan and was decorated for valor for combat operations related to Operation Enduring Freedom. Chris retired in 2019 as a Colonel after 32 years of service.

"Coach Nash is excited to grow NDP's track and field program with the student-athletes already on campus," Levine said. "Chris wants the track and field team to be a family, not only for the student-athletes but coaches and parents as well. We are excited to get going, starting in February of 2023!"

Coach Nash has been an assistant NDP track and field coach since 2020 and an assistant freshmen football coach since 2021. Chris is also a Notre Dame Prep parent and is the proud father of Luke ('21) and Mia ('25).
