Matthew Zismann is taking over the head wrestling coaching duties from Hayes Rollins, last year's head coach.
Zismann assisted Rollins last season in building NDP's wrestling program. He comes to NDP from O'Connor High School where he was a volunteer coach.
As student and wrestler for O'Connor High, Zismann took 5th place in the state his sophomore year, and was state champion his senior year, wrestling in the heavyweight class.
I'm very excited to continue here at NDP and to build the wrestling program," Zismann said. "I have six returning players and seven freshmen signed up and I hope to recruit a few more wrestlers to round our varsity and JV programs.
His goal for the NDP team is to "develop good wrestlers but also mold and shape our boys into the best young men they can be."
Athletic Director, Jason Levine said that he is "Thrilled to have Matthew join the rest of our great coaching staff. Matthew will work with our young men and teach them what they need to know to be successful in the gym and after they graduate from NDP," he added.
NDP's wrestling season begins with tryouts on Nov. 2, 3 and 4.
