Get To Know: Volleyball's #15 Kennedy Graninger

Kennedy Graninger is in her second season in the volleyball program. She was called up to the varsity as a freshman. She had three kills, four bocks and five digs in the win on Tuesday. She has played volleyball since she was 10-years old after playing basketball. She loves to online shop in her free time.

Coming off the playoff win on Tuesday, how is the team feeling about tonight’s game against Seton?
“We are really confident but not going in too cocky. If we play how we have been playing recently and doing what we work on in practice, I think we have a really good shot.”

In this crazy season, NDP was scheduled to play Seton but it was canceled. Now the two schools meet. Was this matchup meant to be?
“I think it was. We are really similar teams. We both have really good hitters, setters and defense. I think it will be a really fun to play against them.”

What is a fun fact about Kennedy?
“I wish I was left-handed.”

“Is there a sibling rivalry with your brother Cameron?
“Sometimes we get in arguments over whether I can beat him in a sprint because he does long distance. Obviously, I think he can beat me. I told him I was going to do track so I could beat him.”

What has been your favorite NDP Volleyball moment up to this point?
“My favorite memory was when we beat Cactus Shadows last year. We went in as the underdog and pulled it out. It was a really fun game.”

What would it mean to you to extend the season and play for a state championship?
“Last year we made it to the semifinals and lost to Sunnyslope. It was a really tough loss and it was hard on all of us. This year we want it so bad. We have been working hard to get here. It would mean so much for all of us.”
