Get To Know: Softball's #2 Cate Keena

Cate Keena is in her first season playing on the softball team after playing three seasons with the basketball program. She will be attending Embry-Riddle University in the Fall.

What are you most excited about the start of the softball season?
“I am excited to learn everything about the game and get closer to all my teammates.”

What inspired you to play softball this season?
“My friend Faith Scaramella. I have not been to many practices or games. But I have learned so much at the ones I have been to.”

What do like about playing softball?
“I am liking how the game is played and how everyone supports each other. There is support all around.”

What are your college plans?
“I am going to Embry-Riddle University and studying aeronautical science to become a pilot.”

What inspires you to be a pilot?
“My Dad. I have always grown up around planes and my first word was “Up”. I am interested in getting more into it.”

What are your goals for the season?
“My goals are to make more friends, getting closer with the team and getting more athletic in my arms.”

What is a fun fact about Cate?
“I have a third ankle. I broke it as a kid and it grew out.”

If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, where would you live: Maximum Ride.
If you could have one superpower: Flight.
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future: Past.
What teacher has inspired you the most: Coach Marcos.
What is your favorite holiday: Halloween.
