You are coming off a two goal, three assist game against Marcos de Niza. How do you feel your junior year is going?
“I think my junior year is going pretty well. We are undefeated right now and it feels great to be 6-0. As a player, I am happy where I am for the season and I hope I can score a few more goals. I hope I can make first-team all-conference this year but ultimately it is about the team and winning state.”
What do you see for the team as you push towards the playoffs?
“I definitely think we will go into the playoffs with a good seed. Hopefully, we go undefeated in the regular season (and playoffs).”
What has been your favorite soccer moment?
“Winning the quarterfinals last year at Cienaga in penalty kicks is my favorite moment. We won to advance to the state semifinals. It was a great feeling and the bus ride back from Tucson was really fun.”
What has been the hardest aspect of the pandemic year for you?
“For this season, the hardest thing is not being able to do team bonding off the field. It really helps the team connect. For our team this year, we are still pretty close considering we have not been able to do much.”
Do you have any siblings?
“I have two older siblings. My sister was a cheerleader, Sam ’17, and my brother Austin ’20 played soccer for a few years.”
What is a fun fact about Peyton?
“I am allergic to corn and celery.”
