Charlotte Kelmon is in her second season at Notre Dame Prep since transferring from Palo Alto (Calif.) HS. She plays for Basketball Science Prep and hopes to play basketball in college. She is averaging 11 points per game and has five games in double figures.
How long have you played basketball?
“Since I could walk, I was holding a ball in my hands.”
What is your favorite thing about playing for NDP?
“I think it is fun. The girl’s program has not always been strong but this year with Liv and the leaders on my team we are showing what the girls team is about and proving people wrong.”
What do you love about shooting three pointers?
“The feeling of making the shot. It is one of the best feelings in the world.”
How are you liking Arizona after moving from California?
“It is definitely different. It (NDP) is a smaller school, but I love it here and it is nice.”
What have your learned from the coaching staff this year?
“I have learned to be confident. The coaches believe in us. It is the most important thing to have people besides you who believe in you.”
What did you take away from playing Seton Catholic toe-to-toe on Friday?
“We learned that we are state championship caliber team. We only came 10 points short and that shows a lot.”
What is a fun fact about you?
“A fun fact about me is that one of my pupils is smaller than the other.”
Why do you wear #23?
“I would wear #24 but Liv took it. I wear it because of Lebron and Jordan. It is a good number.”
What are your goals for the rest of the season?
“We need to play one game at a time, win and keep playing hard. We need focus and pout our minds in the game.”
If you could live in a book, TV show or movie, where would you live: Harry Potter.
What is your greatest achievement: How hard I work in basketball.
If you could have one superpower: Invisibility.
