Football’s Luke Nash Commits to the University of Redlands

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Football senior Luke Nash has committed to play football and attend school at the University of Redlands.

“I am very excited to be at the school and the football program is great,” said Nash. “I am looking forward to being coached by Coach Good and Coach Moore. It is going to be a great place to be,”

The Division III school is in Redlands, Calif., approximately 65 miles east of Los Angeles and 50 miles west of Palm Desert.

“I am blessed to be able to compete at the next level and I feel prepared,” said Nash.  "I am grateful for the many opportunities I’ve had at NDP that have set me up for success.”

Nash, who will study International Business, was a 5A San Tan Region first-team selection during his senior season.

“I appreciated it a lot to get the honors and it showed all the hard work I put in during the offseason,” said Nash.

Nash recorded a team-best 534 yards on 96 carries for a 5.6 yards per carry. He found the end zone seven times and eclipsed 100 yards in a game twice (Maricopa, Sunnyslope).

He was recently named the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association (NIAAA) Arizona Male Student-Athlete Scholarship winner given to the top two-sport scholar athlete. He is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars, a member of the 2020 Sports360AZ All-Academic Team and on the Notre Dame Preparatory Principal's List (above 4.0 GPA), Spring 2020 Notre Dame Preparatory Honor Roll and Fall and Spring 2019 Notre Dame Preparatory High School Dean's List. He transferred into NDP from Cathedral Catholic in San Diego.

While his football future is set, Nash is still competing on the track and field team for the Saints.

“My goals for the track and field season are to make the state championships and compete well,” said Nash.

Nash will participate in the NDP Commitment Celebration on Wednesday, April 14 at 8 a.m. in the Cafeteria.
