Cross Country Wins Home Meet over Fountain Hills

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - The Notre Dame Prep Saints cross country teams defeated Fountain Hills in the lone home meet of the season – The Run to Bemis.

Sophomore Evan Grawer won the boys race in 18:16 with NDP with four of the first five runners in scoring 18 points. Noah Zygmunt was second overall in 20:06 with junior Alex Matura right behind (20:15). Peyton Matura was fifth overall in 21:11 and Dylan Robertson was seventh in 21:53.

Sophomore Ava Handel was the top girls finisher in 22:49 to place second overall, Junior Ella Lahr was third in 23:19, while Yassie Sezen was fifth overall (28:24).

The team will race at the Ojo Rojo Invitational in Queen Creek on Saturday.
