Varsity Boys' Golf Caps September With Another Solid Showing

Hot off their 1-stroke win at The Dobson Classic on September 19, NDP Varsity Boys' Golf defeated Highland and Mountain Ridge by 21 strokes a week ago last Thursday. Saints junior Miles Bauer (33), senior Fin Vander Ark (36) and juniors Frederick Egnatios (37) and Caden Petersen (38) finished in the top four for the day, while freshman Colby Stetina (40) finished 7th overall to round out the victory.

This past weekend, the squad paced the 24-school field in the 36-hole portion of the Wolverines vs. The World Tournament in Florida. Junior Xander Mulder led the Saints with an overall team-best of 145. Junior Cruz Carter had a hole-in-one and was 2 under par in the final round.

Even though NDP took home the top spot in the 36-hole part of the tournament, the Saints fell just short in the subsequent 9-hole, par-3 match to declare the weekend's champion, losing 4-2. Still, the showing capped a month that saw head coach Scott Watkins' crew rack up 5 victories and two runner-up spots.

This weekend, the boys are off to Flagstaff's Continental Country Club for The Peaks Invitational.

Good luck, NDP!
