Notre Dame Prep has added a new AIA sport to our list of competitive interscholastic sports teams ⎯ girls' flag football.
The team scored its first win by signing Coach Mike Brown as head coach of the first flag football team in school history. Brown is an AIA Hall of Fame Coach. He was inducted into the AIA High School Coaches Hall of Fame for Football in 2018. He is a seasoned coach with many years of coaching high school football and track and field.
"I look forward to coaching girls with great character, who also are good athletes," he said. "I have three goals for them: learn, improve and have fun!"
There will be an informational meeting the week of Aug. 12, with the practices starting on Aug. 19. The team's first home game will be against Maricopa High School on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
