Summer Reading

Summer reading encourages a lifelong habit of reading, prevents the “summer slide” that occurs between May and August, ignites the literary conversation among students and between teachers and students and encourages students to improve their interaction with texts and construct meaning.

We assign summer reading by grade and course levels:

Created by Ms. Peer Editor, a YouTube content creator, this video walks students through annotating two literary passages, showing what they might want to look to annotate within a text, and how to create connections in the marginal annotations.
