2023 COLLEGE SUMMER PROGRAMS
Listed below is a list of college summer programs available to Notre Dame Preparatory students.
Arizona State University (ASU)
ASU will be offering two summer programs for current 10th-12th graders.
- One is the Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program and the other is a Media Enrichment Camp.
- Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program is intended for mature and motivated students who are interested in academic careers requiring mathematics, science, or engineering.
- Participants live on the ASU Tempe campus while enrolled in a university-level mathematics or computer science course worth 3 college credits. Students also learn valuable college and academic success information that will help them successfully transition to college. There is no cost to attend the program.
- Eligibility requirements are: Unweighted Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above, earned A or B grades in high school math or science courses, completed a minimum of 3 years of math by the end of this school year, current high school sophomore, junior or senior (Seniors must be accepted to ASU and plan to attend ASU during the 2023 fall semester), US Citizen or permanent resident, and must have lived in Arizona for the past 2 years.

- The Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication will be holding a summer enrichment camp. The focus is on teaching about Media, specifically popular majors like broadcast, digital journalism, sports broadcasting, digital media innovation, and social media.
- Students will stay on campus at the Taylor Place Residence Hall on ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus.

- Joaquin Bustoz Math-Science Honors Program is intended for mature and motivated students who are interested in academic careers requiring mathematics, science, or engineering.
Beacon College Beacon College offers three summer programs for current sophomores, juniors, and seniors.
- The first one is the Navigator Prep program, the second is the Navigator Prep Jr. program, and the third one is the Summer for Success program.
- Navigator PREP is open to students preparing to begin studies at any college or University. Navigator PREP works with each student to identify where he or she is in terms of college readiness to create a strategy unique to that individual. Together, students and parents learn how to connect to their college of choice and its students and how to maximize the resources and support of faculty and staff. - Navigator PREP Jr. is a virtual program for current high school juniors to proactively prepare them for the college application process and the transition to college. This program offers 6- and 3-month tracks during the pivotal months for juniors to begin searching and evaluating colleges. - The Summer for Success High School Program helps current high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors who learn differently build the skills, confidence and preparation they need to successfully transition from high school.
- Students better understand their learning differences, recognize early stumbling blocks and know what they need to succeed in their first year of college.

Beloit College
Beloit is offering two summer programs for students 16 years of age or older. One is a summer academy and the other is a summer language program.
- The Summer Academy Program is a course called “Keepin’ it Real: Fakes, Forgeries, Fantasies and the Quest for Authenticity”.
- The course will introduce students to a broad variety of academic disciplines by exploring the ways that scholars approach this question. Lead instructor, Daniel Barolsky, will guide students through a series of guest lectures, workshops and activities with a range of Beloit College professors, designed to give them a toolbox they can use to think critically and better authenticate just about anything.
- Students will work in small teams on a group project, using their choice of medium: a virtual museum exhibit, a poem, a rap, a radio opinion piece, a digital story, a poster presentation, or a stand-up comedy routine, to name just a few.
- The program dates are June 18, 2023 to July 1, 2023 and is for rising high school juniors and seniors.

- The summer language program is for students who are really interested in learning a new language or increasing their proficiency in a short period of time. The languages offered are Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Russian.
- The seasoned Center for Language Studies (CLS) faculty uses innovative approaches in the classroom while providing immersive cultural on-campus experiences to give students a full picture of the country and its people.
- The program runs from June 17, 2023 to August 4, 2023 and is for high school juniors and seniors.

Boston University (BU)
BU is offering two summer programs for rising 9th-12th graders. One is the precollege summer program and the other is a media production workshop.
- BU has five exciting and challenging pre-college summer programs where students can earn college credit, discover a new subject area, perform cutting-edge research in university labs, or immerse themselves in hands-on learning. The programs prepare students for success in college.

- BU’s Academy of Media Production is offering a four-week workshop to explore the many aspects of media production while developing the skills needed to be a successful storyteller.

Brandeis
The Brandeis Precollege Online Program offers courses, designed for high school students ages 13 and up. Each course features engaging videos by Brandeis faculty and access to mentors. Case Western Reserve University has prepared ambitious students for their futures. In that spirit, they offer pre-college online courses, designed for high school students ages 13 and older. Each course features video lessons by Case Western Reserve instructors and access to mentors. Columbia University
Columbia offers three summer programs for current freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors:
- Summer Immersion in New York City,
Columbia offers a Summer Immersion in New York City. Students can choose from over 70 courses in a dozen subject areas, study with a cohort of like- minded students from all over the world, experience college life, and earn a Columbia University Certification of Participation. The program is open to students entering grades 9 through 12 or freshman year of college in the fall. Students must be currently enrolled in school upon applying. The Columbia Business School is offering a program for students that are interested in learning about business. Whether students are just thinking about what they’ll take in school, already majoring in business, or starting on their professional path, the Columbia Business School program helps students discover the business area that’s right for them. They will experience Ivy League faculty through one of the nation’s top business schools. At the center of world commerce, they offer a faculty of leaders renowned in their fields. Students will acquire the tools they need for their future from expert practitioners. All programs are 100 percent online and are available throughout the year. They’ll be guided by mentors and collaborate with motivated peers from around the globe. They will also complete a final project and receive a certificate of participation from Columbia Business School. The Columbia Climate School and Putney Student Travel collaborate annually to offer the Columbia Climate School in the Green Mountains and Columbia Climate Corps experiences. The programs are designed for motivated 9th through 12th grade high school students and rising 9th grade students who are curious and passionate about the world around them. The program is also for students who want to sharpen their knowledge and skills in the areas of climate change and sustainability. Whether in the U.S. or abroad, Putney Student Travel programs combine pre-college enrichment and travel, taking students beyond the standard summer class model. The programs will help participants build important skills, advance their learning outside of school, and prepare for the college experience. All participants will join a supportive Columbia University community and learn from and network with instructors who are experts in their fields. The offerings are structured around real-time conversations, hands-on activities, and project-based learning in order to provide participants with an introduction to real-world research, ideas, and solutions. Cornell College
Cornell is offering a one course summer institute from July 9, 2023 through July 26, 2023. Students who will be a rising junior or senior by June 2023 or a 2023 high school graduate at the time the summer program starts, are eligible to apply. Students will learn alongside peers from across the country and discover what professors expect of college-level work.

Denison University
Summer TUTTI Performing Arts Camp will be offering a new 8 day residential summer high school intensive in dance, music, and theatre at Denison University. Students live and learn with peers from across the disciplines and across the country. They’ll deepen their skills and talents in their chosen area while exploring new ways of making art, guided by Denison professors as well as nationally acclaimed professional artists and ensembles, Third Coast Percussion, string quartet ETHEL, and members from Available Light Theatre. They welcome dancers (all styles), instrumentalists (strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, and percussion), composers, and students interested in all aspects of theatremaking (acting, directing, designing). Elon University
Elon is offering an Emerging Journalist summer program virtually and on their campus. The program offers the ideal opportunity for high school students to explore what it means to be a journalist, to report and to produce news that informs communities. The program runs from June 19, 2023 to June 30, 2023 and is open to 9th-12th grade students. There is no cost to attend the program. Fir Acres Writing Workshop at Lewis & Clark College
At Fir Acres Writing Workshop, up to 60 rising 10th, 11th, and 12th high school students from across the country come together for two weeks to write and join a community of writers on the beautiful, wooded campus of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon.
- Participants study great writing and produce their own under the guidance of dynamic, thoughtful, published faculty.
- At night, participants gather to socialize, meet and hear from distinguished visiting writers, and work on their own poetry, fiction, and creative prose.
- The program dates are June 25, 2023 to July 8, 2023.

Georgetown University

Johns Hopkins University (JHU)
Johns Hopkins Explore Engineering Innovation is an exciting college-level summer course for motivated high school students with an aptitude in math and science and an interest in or curiosity about engineering.

Landmark College
Landmark College in Putney, Vermont, specializes in working with students with dyslexia, ADHD, autism, and executive function challenges. They are offering a High School Summer Program for rising juniors and seniors. They focus on academic achievement, mutual respect, and personal change and growth. Lehigh University
Students can enhance their abilities in entrepreneurship, leadership, and global citizenship as part of an international network of emerging leaders from across the U.S. and around the world at the Iacocca Global Entrepreneurship Intensive program (IGEI). IGEI is an immersive, hands-on program that combines experiential learning and intercultural connection.
Through the entrepreneurship intensive, students will be able to do a dive deep into focus areas like sustainability, population health or business. After completing the program, students will be able to evaluate the potential of ideas to become successful innovations, create functional business/marketing plans and compelling pitches, and navigate cultural differences and collaborate to succeed as a team. The curriculum is led by faculty from across the university and throughout the worldwide Iacocca Institute network.
It also includes contributions from and collaboration with Lehigh's Baker Institute for Entrepreneurship, Creativity & Innovation, the Lehigh@NasdaqCenter and the Mountaintop Initiative.
The program runs from June 25, 2023 to July 22, 2023 and it is for current sophomore and junior students who are 15 to 17 years old.

Launch X
Launch X holds a high school entrepreneurship summer program that helps students grow their skills and mindset to become real entrepreneurs. The program provides the hands-on education of top resources and community that equips students in the skills and innovative thinking that allow founders to create successful businesses, challenging them to create a real startup from idea to execution and impact. Mayo Clinic
Mayo Clinic offers two summer programs for current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.
- Career Advancement, Research, and Education (CARES) program
The Mayo Clinic CARES program exposes students to the whole spectrum of health care careers over the course of a summer and then provides them with a longitudinal mentorship experience. During the program, students will learn about the wide variety of careers in health care, establish connections, and discover the possibilities for their personal and professional journey. They can expect hands-on experiences in a hospital setting, motivation through the discovery of personal strengths, and long-term mentorship opportunities beyond the program by selected Mayo Clinic mentors. The program is offered in person or virtually. The application is now open and the deadline to apply is February 1, 2023. Through the program, students will be given an opportunity to do worthwhile work that makes a difference in the care of people, explore careers in healthcare, attend educational presentations, and meet people and make new friends. The purpose of the program is to provide service to Mayo Clinic employees and ultimately to Mayo Clinic patients. Volunteers must be available to volunteer during regular business hours (Monday through Friday) and are assigned one weekly four-hour shift. The program is an eight-week program and runs from June 5, 2023, through July 28, 2023 and is for students between the ages of 15 to 18 years old as of May 1, 2023. Oxbridge University
Oxbridge is offering a summer academic program for current freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior students. They offer over 150 course options in five cities: Oxford, Cambridge, Paris, Barcelona and New York. The programs range from one week to four weeks. Whether students come to Oxbridge to deepen their knowledge of a subject they are already passionate about or to spark interest in a completely new domain, Oxbridge provides them with the opportunity to explore their chosen topic as it would be taught at university. Oxbridge is not a summer extension to school. Courses are specifically designed to be taught experientially, through discussion, debate, and experiment, and to culminate in student-driven projects and presentations. Oxford Royale Academy
Oxford Royale offer courses designed for traditional professions, such as business, engineering, law and medicine, but also courses designed to stretch the boundaries of traditional education, from Robotics, to Film or Architecture. Their summer schools also offer a plethora of cultural experiences, and workshops to develop crucial life skills such as public speaking. Paris College of Art (PCA)
PCA's Summer Program offers an exciting set of courses in the fields of art, design, and culture. PCA's two-week pre-college courses are specifically designed for high school students 16 years old and older preparing their application materials, with an emphasis on portfolio development and skills needed to apply to art school. In the two weeklong courses, introductory through advanced level students will explore art, design, culture, and language. Courses are taught in English and count for 3 academic credits. An international faculty comprised of professional artists and designers will guide students through the colorful streets and neighborhoods of Paris. Through field trips to museums, studios, boutiques, and design organizations, students will take advantage of the abundant resources the city has to offer. Paris will serve as both a subject matter and a source of inspiration. Studio work, lectures, and independent research projects will help them to develop new skills, refine their understanding of art and design, and create portfolio pieces for college or graduate school admissions. Rose-Hulman offers five summer Pre-College discovery experiences for students who have a passion for the areas of science, engineering, and mathematics. Summer Discovery
Summer Discovery provides a transformative academic and extra-curricular precollege enrichment summer program aimed to develop high school students for the 21st century, all while teaching transferable and soft skills coveted by employers and university admissions teams. During class time, students will be taught by experienced university instructors. Outside of class, the highly trained staff will help students to explore new cities, lead them on excursions, and plan activities to maximize that summer fun. Texas Christian University (TCU)
The TCU Neeley School of Business hosts a one-week summer residential program for high school students, providing a hands-on experience with opportunities to learn and hone their skills in data analytics and market research. They’ll build models to explore how a business is performing and discover the ways data can impact profitability. The program runs from July 9, 2023 to July 14, 2023 and it is for students entering grades 11th or 12th. This program is specifically for students who possess strong math skills, scholastic achievement, leadership, and motivation and interest in analytics and problem solving. The College of William and Mary
The William & Mary Pre-College Online Program provides valuable insights and tools from expert practitioners working at the center of their fields. The program is designed for high school students ages 13 and up, and offers a range of compelling topics, covered in-depth, through online coursework led by William & Mary professors. Lessons are delivered through dynamic videos, allowing students to study at their own pace. The program is available year-round. William and Mary believe that online learning is a great way for motivated high school students to try out a topic and see if it’s a fit before college. The University of Arizona (U of A)
New Start works to give graduating Senior students a smooth, comprehensive transition to the University of Arizona the summer before their first year. Some key benefits of New Start are:
- The ability to earn 6-7 credits before fall even begins
- The ability to gain knowledge of the university layout and resources during a time when campus is quiet
- A peer mentor and coordinated network of support who will have the students’ back
- The chance to experience dorm life during the summer (A dorm space is not guaranteed).
The program will take place between Saturday, June 10, 2023 and Friday, July 21, 2023. To apply, Senior students need to be admitted to the U of A for Fall 2023 and return to Future Wildcat (where students applied to the U of A) and click "supplemental applications". The University of Rochester
The University of Rochester is offering a pre-college online program designed for high school students ages 13 and older. Through participating in their courses, students can discover how their interests could lead to a college major or even a future career. Each course features engaging video by Rochester faculty and access to mentors. The program is available year-round, and the online format lets the students' study anywhere, anytime, at their own pace.

Thomas Aquinas College
The Thomas Aquinas College’s High School Great Books program is offered in two locations at the College’s California campus and at its Massachusetts campus. At Thomas Aquinas College’s Summer Great Books Program, students will be challenged to wonder and to think about and discuss the big questions — questions that philosophers, scientists, mathematicians, poets, and saints have asked throughout history and hunger for the answers. The Summer Great Books Program will help them to start down the path toward wisdom. Every class is conducted using the Discussion Method, beginning with a question designed to help you think deeply about the text at hand. United States Military Academy at West Point
The West Point Summer Leaders Experience (SLE) provides rising high school seniors with a week-long immersion into the academic, military, and social life of a cadet. At SLE, students will explore West Point from all angles, including their high-tech educational facilities, team building athletic activities, and realistic military training. They will get a taste of Cadet Life through the entire program, which is led by current West Point cadets. They will experience the thrill of victory when they overcome the challenges of the summer program and they will form life-long connections and friendships with their future classmates. University College Dublin (UCD)
The UCD high school summer program is a two-week enrichment program designed for North American students interested in learning more about Irish history, culture and student life. Through lectures and field trips, students will become acquainted with Ireland's rich cultural heritage and the vibrant capital city of Dublin. The program will also highlight unique degree programs at UCD and prepare students for the exciting and rewarding experience of studying in Ireland on a more long-term basis. The UD Edge summer college program prepares high school students moving into their junior or senior year for a future as a successful college student. By emphasizing academic excellence, practical skill building and student leadership, Edge offers students the challenge, independence, and excitement of a learning experience that can only be found at UD. Students will take part in on and off campus activities and build a sense of community with students from all over the world. Eligibility requirements are: Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above and evidence that demonstrates strong academic potential, good judgement and maturity, and the ability to succeed in a highly structured environment. Notre Dame offers a Summer Scholars program where students spend two intensive weeks on Notre Dame's campus taking a college-level course taught by Notre Dame faculty. The classes are small, and students receive personal attention from Notre Dame faculty. The coursework is a true preview of college academics—it is both rigorous and rewarding, and students earn one transferable college credit upon the completion of a program track. Students collaborate on coursework outside designated class times as they would in any college setting. There is also ample time to enjoy the social facets of college life, especially those unique to Notre Dame. The program is also offered online. The program is for current sophomores or juniors. Applications are now open and are due on February 20, 2023. There is limited need-based partial to full tuition scholarships available to students.
