Three NDP Seniors Named National Merit Semifinalists

Congratulations to Casey Byrne, Chase Taris, and Emmitt Taris on being named 2027 National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists!

Notre Dame Preparatory is proud to celebrate these three outstanding seniors for this significant academic achievement. They are among more than 16,000 academically talented high school seniors nationwide selected as Semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.

The National Merit Scholarship Program recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional academic ability and achievement. Semifinalists will have the opportunity to continue in the competition for approximately 6,700 National Merit Scholarships, worth nearly $24 million, to be awarded next spring.

To continue in the competition, Semifinalists must fulfill additional requirements to advance to Finalist standing. Approximately 95 percent of Semifinalists are expected to become Finalists, with about half of those Finalists ultimately earning a National Merit Scholarship and the distinction of Merit Scholar.

We are incredibly proud of Casey, Chase, and Emmitt and their dedication to academic excellence. Congratulations on this well-deserved recognition!
