McNelis Advances in U.S. Presidential Scholars Program

Notre Dame Preparatory is proud to announce that recent graduate Keira McNelis has advanced to the final round of the 2026 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, one of the nation's most prestigious honors for high school seniors.

Keira earned national recognition after achieving a perfect score on the ACT, placing her among the country's highest-performing students. She was first selected as one of 627 semifinalists nationwide and has now advanced to the final stage of consideration for the U.S. Presidential Scholars Program.

Established in 1964 by executive order of the President of the United States, the program recognizes exceptional graduating seniors for their academic achievement, leadership, character, and service. Students are initially identified based on extraordinary performance on the SAT or ACT before undergoing a rigorous review process that evaluates academic excellence, involvement in school and community activities, leadership, personal qualities, and commitment to serving others.

Advancing to the final round places Keira among an elite group of students from across the nation competing for selection as one of approximately 161 U.S. Presidential Scholars. The honor is widely regarded as one of the highest academic recognitions a graduating senior can receive.

Keira's achievement reflects years of dedication, perseverance, and pursuit of excellence. Her success not only showcases her remarkable academic abilities but also embodies the values of scholarship, leadership, and service that are central to the Notre Dame Preparatory experience.
