March 31-April 4 was a Wish Week like no other in the state of Arizona as Notre Dame Prep sent shockwaves across campus today by raising more than $50,000 for Make-A-Wish Arizona -- that is more than any other Wish Week in our state's history.

According to Kelly McKeever, events manager for Make-A-Wish Arizona, which grants more than 460 wishes a year, Williams Field High School set the previous record of $45,000 six years ago.

“Not only did we surpass our $10,000 goal to send our ‘Wish Kid’ Lucas to a major PGA golf tournament, but we also secured enough money for four more kids to have their wishes come true!” said NDP senior Rocco Baggio, a leader for the NDP Make-A-Wish Club.

April is World Wish Month so for NDP to deliver a record-breaking Wish Week in the first four days, generated a great deal of excitement for Make-A-Wish Arizona. “This is a huge accomplishment, we are so proud of the NDP community,” McKeever said. “NDP is phenomenal, truly.”

Baggio and his fellow leaders Ashlyn Cote and Ava Stine solicited donations from local businesses and with the support of school administrators and fellow students pulled off a monumental week.

“We could not have done this without the help of our amazing sponsors,” said NDP principal Brie Dragonetti.

The sponsors included Lifted Trucks, Mountainside Fitness, Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, Floridino's Pizza & Pasta, Nautical Bowls, Black Rock Coffee, Press Coffee, NDP Baking Club and Randy's Donuts!

“We are also grateful to our NDP community for supporting us through donations, buying raffle tickets, purchasing food from our vendors, and buying our Wish Week T-shirts,” added Dragonetti. “We cannot thank our wonderful parents, students, faculty, staff and sponsors enough!”
