Notre Dame Preparatory senior Whitney Bagley has been selected as a recipient of the highly prestigious Chancellor’s Scholarship at Texas Christian University, where she will attend this fall and major in nursing.

The Chancellor’s Scholarship is TCU’s most selective and competitive academic scholarship program. Each year, more than 25,000 students apply to the university, but only around 40 are ultimately selected for the program. Whitney’s selection places her in the top 0.16% of all applicants.

The process to earn the scholarship is rigorous and multi-layered. Candidates are evaluated through an extensive review of their academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, writing samples, and letters of recommendation. Finalists are then invited to campus for a three-day immersive experience that includes meeting with current students and university administrators as well as completing two interview sessions with panels of four interviewers.

Whitney stood out among an exceptional pool of candidates and is the only student from the state of Arizona selected for the Chancellor’s Scholarship this year.
