NDP's Hineman Makes National Splash

Notre Dame Prep senior Liliana Hineman is making a name for herself on the national stage after a remarkable performance at the Walnut Sectionals in California, where she won the 400 Individual Medley with a career-best swim.

Competing for Gold Medal Swim Club, Hineman touched the wall first in 4:55.96, finishing more than a second ahead of the runner-up and dropping an incredible more than six seconds from her previous personal best of 5:02.28, set just two months ago.

The breakthrough performance now ranks as the 17th-fastest 400 IM time in the nation this season among 15-16-year-old girls, further cementing Hineman as one of the country's top young swimmers.

Her impressive swim also caught the attention of SwimSwam, the nation's premier competitive swimming news outlet, which featured Hineman on its homepage following her victory. In its coverage, SwimSwam highlighted her massive time drop and recognized her as one of the standout performers of the meet.

Hineman's latest accomplishment adds to an already outstanding swimming résumé. A member of Notre Dame Prep's swim team and Gold Medal Swim Club, she has consistently demonstrated the hard work and determination needed to compete at the highest level. Her continued success has earned her a commitment to Rice University, where she will continue her academic and athletic career beginning in the fall of 2027.

With more races still ahead at the Walnut Sectionals, Hineman continues to represent Notre Dame Prep with excellence on one of the country's biggest stages.
