
The Notre Dame Prep Girls Soccer team is officially the 5A State Champion.
On Saturday morning, the Saints defeated AZ College Prep 1–0 in a hard-fought championship match to claim the state title. In a game defined by composure, discipline, and relentless effort, the Saints delivered when it mattered most.
The decisive moment came on a perfectly executed play as Sophie Grindall found the back of the net off an assist from Elsa Delord. With the lead secured, the Saints defense rose to the occasion, shutting down AZ College Prep’s attack and preserving the 1–0 advantage through the final whistle.
Senior captain Whitney Ladich was named State Championship MVP, a well-earned honor that reflects her leadership, consistency, and impact throughout the postseason. Her presence on the field set the tone for the team’s focus and determination in the biggest moments of the season.
This championship is the result of months of preparation, sacrifice, and commitment from the entire roster. From early morning trainings to intense playoff battles, the Saints competed for one another and embraced the standard of excellence that defines Notre Dame Prep athletics.
